Allan’s America Background Map 16K – Dark Coloured for American Truck Simulator

Description
Versions 4

A dark map with more natural colour.

This edition combines deep navy water with green landscapes, earth tones and detailed shaded relief, giving you a darker background while keeping the terrain’s colour and character.

Built from the established Light V2.1 colour sources, it preserves the existing geography, island positions, terrain layout and zoom settings.

Features

Dark navy water and naturally coloured terrain.
Detailed mountains, coastlines and shaded relief.
North America and surrounding regions.
Background coverage for ATMX, Grand Utopia of America and Beyond’s Pacific islands.
Includes the V2.1 World Map interface correction.
Designed with 4K displays in mind and usable at lower resolutions.

Installation and load order

Place the downloaded .scs file in your American Truck Simulator mod folder.
Activate Allan’s America Background Map 4K – Dark Coloured in Mod Manager.
Disable your existing background-map edition and put this one in the same load-order position.

Use one background map at a time, including Workshop copies. FullScreen Maps is optional.

This mod changes the visual background. It does not add roads, cities or playable map areas. The map expansions shown by the background are separate downloads.

Allan’s America Background Maps — 16K V3.0

A major visual update for Dark, Dark Coloured and Light!

• 16K textures with improved encoding for cleaner terrain detail.

• Clearer country borders, including the USA, Canada and Mexico—muted gold on the dark editions and crimson red on Light.

• Smaller player arrows across all zoom levels.

• Updated GUOA coastline around Lochburn.

• ATMX, GUOA and Island Map islands retained, with existing map alignment preserved.

Enable one background edition at a time, replacing your previous version. If you use GMC’s optional Route Adviser or Fullscreen Maps on 1.62, use the latest corrected files too.

No game-version restrictions are set in the background-map manifests.

v2.2.1

Supported Game Versions: 1.61 317

V2.2.1 — Clearer job-map road colours

• Improved the distinction between explored and unexplored roads on the job-selection map: amber for explored roads and grey for unexplored roads.

• Light editions retain a darker grey for better contrast against the lighter background.

• Compatibility with Jacob’s SCS UI Tweaks is preserved. Without a colour pack, the background uses its own defaults; compatible colour packs placed above it retain their own colours.

• Removed release numbers from artwork to prevent outdated version labels.

Terrain, coastlines, map coverage, alignment and zoom settings are unchanged.

Enable only one background edition/version at a time.

ATS V2.2 — Light, Dark and Dark Coloured

• Added support/compatibility for Jacob’s SCS UI Tweaks for ATS and ETS2.

• Revised the ATMX eastern coastline and restored water beneath the sea-crossing bridges.

• Preserved each edition’s default colours, map alignment and zoom settings.

• Updated version artwork and installation guidance.

Jacob’s SCS UI Tweaks is a collection of 9 individual UI colour packs that work across both games. The download also includes two support packages for the base UI map—one for each game.

Colour packs are optional and downloaded separately. Place your chosen compatible colour pack above the background and follow Jacob’s installation instructions. Without a colour pack, the background retains its default colours.

Enable only one background edition at a time. FullScreen Maps is optional and also goes above the background.
