The error is in the file -> "Dalton_Elliot_Hwy_Winter_Defs_1.59.2.0s.scs" ->

path: \def\world\model.dalton.sii

Three entries have a double character // in the path:

model_desc: "/model/sign/company_logos//hilltop/hilltop_sign.pmd"

model_desc: "/model/sign//dalton/pbhotel.pmd"

model_desc: "/model/sign//dalton/pbsign.pmd"

Simply change it to a single / and the crashes will stop.

You can do this yourself by opening "Dalton_Elliot_Hwy_Winter_Defs_1.59.2.0s".scs" with app "7zip"

and then go to: \def\world\model.dalton.sii

Edit this file with F4 and search [ Ctrl+F] for the // ( duble /) character and change it to / ( single /).

Do this only in the paths given above, do not change ANY OTHER paths!

Save the changes to the "model.dalton.sii" file and to Dalton_Elliot_Hwy_Winter_Defs_1.59.2.0s.scs

IMPORTANT

Please open your documents/American Truck Simulator/config.cfg file in notepad and ensure the following is set.

uset r_buffer_page_size "25"

If this is not set then you may experience a crash to desktop by Fairbanks Rail.

The map is a Standalone Map on a 1:1 Scale and is NOT Compatible with any other map i.e C2C or Mexuscan so please do not ask.

I was going to make it an addon but with the rescale it would cause more headaches than its worth.

Experience has been increased to reflect the size of the map compared to the base game. Pay has not.

This map is not for the faint of heart it will take you 20 minutes to get to Fox from Fairbanks and 3 1/2 hours to get to Yukon River Camp.

It takes about 2 hours or so just to get to the Dalton Highway from Fairbanks alone.

There are hills and corners that will make your jaw drop or wake you up.

This map has been mapped with google earth and elevations for every single node added to their correct heights for their respective locations via Google Maps Find Altitude.

For those of you who remember my 18 WOS Haulin version you are in for a real treat. there is no map shaking like the original back in 18WOS. Pavel told me the map was so big the game couldnt handle it lol.

There are two versions one Summer and one Winter.

As this is a W.I.P. and ongoing there maybe a few places that are not yet complete.

Map Includes

Alaska State Troopers, Fairbanks and North Slope Borough Police Cars, Custom Trailer skins for some companies. Carlile T680 and W900 Skins for the SCS player trucks and AI trucks

(Watch your speed on the Elliot and Dalton those Police and State Troopers can sneak up on you or just be around the next corner.)

Winter Map Update - Northstar Island and Ice Road!

Brought up to date with current game version

Added in Northstar Island and Ice road to it.

Northstar Island—an offshore artificial oil production facility in the Arctic Ocean—was frequently featured in Season 3 and Season 4 of Ice Road Truckers on the History channel. The drivers from Carlile Transportation routinely hauled heavy, oversized equipment to and from the island across the ocean's sea ice.

The facility served as a primary destination in several specific episodes across these seasons, most notably:

Season 3

The third season focused heavily on Alaska's North Slope, where Northstar Island was one of the main delivery points for heavy equipment and vital supplies.

Episode 2: "Rookie Run" (Aired June 7, 2009) — Features early-season runs making deliveries out onto the Arctic Ocean ice to Northstar.

Episode 3: "Canadian Invasion" (Aired June 14, 2009) — Follows drivers tackling the treacherous haul out on the sea ice to the island.

Season 4

The fourth season continued the Alaskan routes, with the island appearing throughout as drivers battled melting conditions late in the year.

Episode 1: "Breaking Through" (Aired June 6, 2010) — The season premiere highlights the rush to get critical loads across the ocean ice to the oil rigs at Northstar Island.

Episode 3: "Facing Down The Blow" — Highlights the grueling runs out to the island before spring melt arrives

Unfortunately time being a major constraint on this project due to real life, there are still alot of things incomplete here mainly between Prudhoe Bay and the Western Dock area. I have had to fill in the land so I could release this as it is.

Currently there is some pipeline from water treatment facilities that is incomplete or missing, also Flow Station 1 is missing as well as Central Compression Plant. Although these were not in the series they are along the route.

There may be some tiny gaps in terrain however they will be corrected in the future as well as adding in the missing Plants and Pipeline.

I have also been working on the Special Transport Missions and have successfully got the escort vehicles working, however I have not had the time to fix the routes so this is left out of this version

The cracking Ice sounds included on the ice road will be updated as soon as I can remember how to FMOD. As some of you might know Ice on frozen lakes and oceans can make some very very eerie sounds

besides the sound of ice cracking. I have recordings of this eerie sound from multiple sources and wish to include it at a further point in the updates. For now though the old Ice Cracking sounds have been used.

Summer Map Users

I have NOT updated the Summer Map to version 1.59 as yet.

It is only compatible with game version 1.58. Please either Backpatch to Game Version 1.58 in Steam or wait for me to release the next update.

You will CRASH TO DESKTOP if you try use the Summer Map on Game Version 1.59++

Im not answering this again re the Summer Map. I have posted many times about Major Game Updates breaking the map and SCS also mentions it about mods breaking with updates.

Alternatively, use the Winter Map as I will be concentrating more on that than Summer as I will be adding in more Offshore Oilrigs and Nuiqsut next. All Ice Roads.
